Afton Village Summer Events Line-up:
Fun, Sun & Savings

Afton Village is offering a season full of activity and entertainment for the community. Restaurants, the local wine shop and sports bar, and Afton Village Shops will be providing plenty of attractions to keep the mixed-use community humming with adults and families all summer long.

Beginning the first week of May, the Afton Village tradition of Party of the Plaza will return. The bring-your-own-lawn-chair extravaganza occurs on the Village Plaza the first Friday of every month from 6:30-9:30 p.m. This year the event is being hosted by The Wine Room, and will include a moon-bounce and face painting for children, and live music by popular local band, ‘Exit 54.’ The event also includes specials and samples from other area businesses, for example, Entrée Vous offers menu tastings of their freshly-assembled menu items.

Evenings at Afton Village can be spent on the elegant plaza of Max’s Ally, a Dressler Restaurant offering a wide variety of carefully-crafted menu fare and an extensive wine and drink menu. The restaurant offers live entertainment Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights, and hosts group wine tastings every Thursday featuring 3 wines and appetizers. The covered stone patio features a stone fireplace for late evenings.

In addition to hosting Party on The Plaza, The Wine Room also offers live music on its patio Friday and Saturday nights with a diverse selection of local bands ranging from jazz, blues or covers. The favorite hangout also offers wine tastings on Tuesdays; Wednesdays are trivia night and light menu selections are available.

Sporting events can be watched on the wide-screen TV’s at Joe’s Sports Bar, where people also come to connect with neighbors and enjoy a cold one after a day of activity. E-Noodles and Gateway to Athens provide interesting and tasty alternatives to traditional franchise fare for dinner, and light sandwiches and coffee drinks can be enjoyed on the patio of The Ground Floor Coffeehouse.

Retailers are also promising a summer of events and values. Entrée-Vous, a prepare-your-own meal service with fresh and savory menu items offer entrée tastings the first Friday and second Saturday of the month from 6:30-8:30, offer Kid’s cooking classes on the second and fourth Fridays of the month, and host grown-up girls night out parties, fundraisers and the grand opening of their newest addition – a second kitchen – on May 17th when it will offer free couples-sized entrees to the first 100 people.
