Meet the Streets of Afton Village
STREET NAMES IN THE AFTON VILLAGE REFLECT THE HISTORIC CHARACTER OF CABARRUS COUNTY

When it came time to name the streets in the Afton Community, developer David Mayfield turned to the history of Cabarrus County.

Captain Archibald McCurdy was a Revolutionary War officer and prominent farmer. His house, thought to be built in 1773, is the oldest house still standing in the county.

John Nolen was an early 1900's urban developer and landscape architect. With a master's degree in landscape planning, he designed many beautiful city parks and public spaces including Charlotte's Independence Park.

P. B. Fetzer was a prominent drugstore owner and clerk of the Concord City Commission in the early 1900's.
